Say It!—A Christian Hack for Living Better

If you are Christian…

Say it aloud. Say that you have been lifted out of poverty because you have. Say that you have been lifted out of debt; out of defeat; out of bondage and disease. Say it!

If you don’t say it, you won’t see it. Say that the Lord is your wisdom and your sanctification and your redemption and your righteousness.

Refuse to observe lying vanities by keeping mute. Refuse to shudder at the petering bank statements and demand letters, that give a contrary narrative of who you are.

Hold fast to your proclamations for you also have to exercise patience after you have done the will of God.

How To Get Anything You Want

In Christ, you can have everything you have ever imagined; a beautiful family, happiness, health and wealth; and here is how:

By meditating on God’s Word about whatever it is that you want.

Trust me, the Word of God contains the anointing. And a quick definition of what the anointing is; is that it is a substance of God that destroys burdens and removes yokes (according to Isaiah 10:27) capable of delivering to you God’s intent in any situation, location or context.

Sickness is a yoke, and so is debt, the inability to find a spouse or pay bills when they fall due. It is a burden to have to endure depression, business failure or failure in your marriage. Everyone knows this because of the pain that comes with such circumstances.

Now, the Lord Jesus Christ (the manifested Word of God) came for one purpose alone: that we who believe in Him should have His life and live it to the fullest (See John 10:10 and 1  John 3:8); and not be subject to pain of defeat.

That said, to meditate on God’s word in the Christian context means to ponder, mutter, devise, confess and shout it until your spirit is bubbling up with it in your prayer and general conduct. It is how you bring the anointing, that yoke destroying, burden removing substance into your affairs.

So whatever you are faced with, get into the scriptures, make a list of what God’s anointed words say about it from the Bible and begin to meditate upon them.

In ending this piece, allow me to quote two scriptural references as the it is biblical rule that in the mouth of two or more witnesses, a matter is established (See 2 Corinthians 13:1 and Matthew 18:16)

  1. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8)
  2. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. (1 Timothy 4:15)

Everything you have ever wanted, if meditated on for long enough, will be manifested to you. Don’t struggle like the rest of the world. You are different.

Take time to study Matthew 6: 31-33. Meditating is the way to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

The Issue of Body Image

PIC1

Recently, I got some really incredible feedback about my book, The Code: A Simple Story About Raising Great Women that made me reflect about of the subject of body-image as it impacts on how successful a women become in life.

A working mom-in the oil and gas industry-told me that reading the book had helped her become sensitive to the struggle her chubby teenage daughter was beginning to experience because of her weight;so much so that the girl had now been prodding her parents to change schools because of the way she felt about her body.

As a parent, your role is to give your daughter control of her body-image. And while the roles diverge for mother and father on helping a daughter feel good about her looks, the real idea behind giving the girl-child control over her body-image is based on the fact that how she feels about her body and her ability to take charge of her life travel in the same direction. If your daughter feels good about her looks, her self-confidence skyrockets and this is a good thing, no matter what stage of life she’s at.

The thing to note here is that a daughter will take on the body-image of her mom without her mother having to say a word. So, if a mother struggles with her body-image, the daughter would most likely do too. My book asks mothers to learn to take control of their daughter’s body-image by taking control of their own through dieting and exercise.

And while mothers have the sole task of  mirroring positive body-images to their daughters, fathers have the role to affirming mother and daughter about their body-image. The reason, females are wired to think that if you aren’t saying nice things about them, then there is really nothing positive to say which is why the men in their lives need to be intentional about the words they use, particularly as it affects body-image.

I teach nine other ideas in this book to help you raise your daughter which you can get here on Amazon.

Understanding Righteousness Part 4

made righteous

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”—(Matthew 6: 33)

In my previous article, I wrote about how Matthew 6:33 applies to you if you have already been born again. You have done the first part which is to seek the Kingdom of God if you have declared that Jesus is Lord over your life.

I also shared that doing the latter part of our theme scripture(seeking God’s righteousness) in order to get our needs met entailed:

  • Meditating on the Word of God
  • Studying the Word of God
  • Fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit and other believers
  • And practicing the Word of God

Seeking God’s righteousness is about learning the kingdom behaviour or culture. Take for instance, immigrants who have been given permanent residency status in a country, based on certain pre-qualified criteria. For them to attain the status of citizen, it will be required that they learn about their new country to an acceptable standard. That is why in certain countries, immigrant residents applying to become citizens are usually made to write examinations to test their general knowledge of the laws, history and culture of their adopted country. Seeking the righteousness of God is that way too. After you come to the kingdom, you’ve got to learn the kingdom’s way of doing and being right.
In the kingdom of God, our Heavenly Father is the standard setter. He sets the standards by the Word of God. Our thoughts, words and actions are measured on the basis of His character revealed in the Bible; how He acts and reacts at any given time, and in any given situation. And so seeking (being intentional about imbibing) God’s “ways of doing and being right” like it says in the Amplified Version of Matthew 6:33 is the only way we get our daily provision in the Kingdom of God.

Here’s the first way:

Meditating on the Word of God

When we meditate on God’s word, it alters our consciousness from mundanity to reality. For example, let’s say you get a sick report from your doctor . As soon as you read the report you become conscious of whatever sickness was written in the report. In many cases, some people may not even feel the symptoms of the disease but they may start to say in their conversation from that time on: “I have so-and-so sickness”.

Whereas meditating repeatedly on a scripture like 1 Peter 2:24 will immediately supplant that sickness consciousness with a health consciousness. Before long, it will enter your awareness that by the stripes of Jesus, you were (notice the tenses) healed. You will have a mind shift and that’s when a miracle will be born.

You see, like God, your consciousness is your creative ability. God said, let there be light in His first proclamation and light became according to Genesis 1:3. He couldn’t have said let there be light if He wasn’t at first, conscious of what light was. The truth is that you can only create what you are conscious of.

Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Put in another way, it says, “…to be carnally conscious creates death; but to be spiritually conscious creates life and peace.”

Then it goes on to say in Romans 8:7 that a carnal mind (or consciousness) is enmity against God for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can be.

In Joshua 1:8, the Bible reveals the steps to supplanting carnal consciousness with a spiritual one.

It says,

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

The word, ‘meditate’ means, ‘to ponder upon’ and ‘to mutter’. The very idea that we are to ponder upon and mutter the Word of God day and night suggests that God is after our minds; what we think about; or what we are aware of; and what we speak.

He wants us to be aware of and speak our healing; our dominion; our victory; our peace; our righteousness.

So take out your Bible and your notepads today. Get a couple of scriptures about whatever it is you want. If you’re sick in your body, google scriptures about healing and write them down. Ponder upon and mutter these scriptures morning and night until an awareness of your healing dawns on you. Trust me, you’ll know when it happens because you would have materialized your health.

To be continued….

Shalom!
