No Bondage to the Seed of Abraham

Very often, certain Christians go through life bound by habits, debts or sicknesses. And they allow these conditions linger, not knowing what to do. They forget or are unaware that they are the real Seed of Abraham, not the Jews.

Galatians 3:29 says,

‘ If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise’

That said, the Seed of Abraham has no obligation to tolerate bondage or oppression in any shape, size or form.

And how do you know this? Someone might be asking…I know this from the word of God.

There is a story of a woman who came into the synagogue bent over from some sort of paralysis, crippled by a spirit for eighteen long years. After Jesus had healed the woman and had been accosted by the Jewish leaders for healing on the Sabbath (The Sabbath is the seventh day in the Jewish week strictly designated for rest), He made a statement about her that was indicative of the fact that Seed of Abraham ought not be bound. (See the story in Luke 13:10-17)

In Jesus’ response, He asked,

“…this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?”

Notice what Jesus was saying. That woman’s eligibility for release was based on her being the Seed of Abraham.

A second witness is in John 8: 31-38

‘Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'(John 8:31-32$

Notice their response to Jesus’ freedom proclamation in verse 33:

‘They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?’

The response the Jews gave was correct in the sense that Abraham’s Seed can know no bondage.

But Jesus went on to invalidate their claims to being the Seed of Abraham saying that they were bound by sin, subject to the devil and that believing in Him alone was the only way to true freedom. (See it in John 8:34-38)

And to buttress this fact, Galatians 3:16 (New Heart English Version) says,

‘Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He does not say, “And to offsprings,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your offspring,” which is Christ.’

If you belong to Christ, the promises are now yours. Don’t let any false prophet lie to you to perform any deliverance rituals on your behalf so that you can be free. Abraham’s Seed knows no bondage-whether financial, health-related or social.

If you have been imprisoned falsely or maybe you have been made to swear an oath to a human trafficking ring and you have now become a Christian, you are Abraham’s Seed.

Start proclaiming your freedom. Declare it everyday; ‘ I am the Seed of Abraham…I am free from this (put the name of whatever it is that is keeping you bound).

If it is an addiction, a relationship or some unnatural proclivity, meditate on and pray with the scriptures I put in this post until they bring you into God’s desires for you.

God desires your freedom, and in Christ the Seed of Abraham, you are free!

Shalom!
