How To Deal With Frustration

expect-nothing-you-will-never-be-dissappointed

Sometimes, we expect so much from people. And when they don’t deliver on our expectations, we get frustrated.

Frustration is  good. It is the offshoot of unmet expectations telling us that in some way, we were designed for interdependence and not self-reliance. So if you ever feel frustrated, it’s because something you had hoped for got deferred

As a person of faith, frustrations help me to clarify if my expectations are realistic or not. The also remind me that I haven’t spoken to God about my expectations and that I have place the meeting of  my expectations on unreliable means.

Don’t take your frustrations out on people around you, talk to God. I mean, just venting your frustrations at your spouse, colleague or child tells me something about you that you might not have realized up till this:

You have no one to pray to, and until you do, your life will be a struggle.

You don’t have to look for someone to beat on, talk to God. You don’t have to binge on anything, talk to God. And most importantly, it’s not the end of the world for you, talk to God.
