Nothing in life changes without having a strong desire.
Ask anybody who changed the unpleasant aspects of their lives, they had one.
That desire for change that makes you wake up at 4am in the morning to pray, study, workout or reflect on what’s important… that one that makes you cry out for help in a time of desperation.
Without a strong desire, the chains stay on. That credit card debt, the enslavement to a bad habit you want to break, or the perennially abusive relationship will linger longer than necessary, without let up.
In his book, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill calls it the Burning Desire. For some, it all that is required to think up an innovation that will make them a fortune; find a spouse, search for a new job or generally move to the next level.
What changes do you want to make in your life this year? Maybe you too need to start saving money to go back to school. Maybe you need to start running everyday to save yourself from health problems in the future. Maybe you need to take anger management classes to improve how you relate with others.
Your change is in nurturing a strong desire.
Stoke it into a great flame and ‘It will make you an unstoppable, no-matter-what kind of person,’ in the words of Les Brown.
Change is in the offing for you my friend but it’s up to you…to desire it with great intensity.
