What on earth will it be?
You know the pundits say that the difference between merely existing and truly living are the things we do or say to make the lives of others more fulfilling; much easier and gratifying.
We have peanut butter today because of George Washington Carver; the Ipod, because of Steve Jobs and the light bulb, because of Thomas Alva Edison. What do we have because of you?
Zig Ziglar once said;
You can have everything you want in life if you will just help enough people get what they want.
Your contribution may be a shirt, tuition money, a book, a sermon, a song…or even a smile.
The thing about it, is that only you can make your contribution. Only you can write that poem or story that has been lodged in your heart for us to read. Only you can encourage others they way you do. Only you.
I may not always write to enthrall but you are guaranteed a learning point when you read this blog.
Today’s is that your contribution is your freedom.
And to borrow a leaf from Nelson Mandela-an icon who himself made most of his life’s contribution from a dingy prison cell on a tiny reclusive island-on what freedom is, he said:
…to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
Learn to live free. Give of yourself to others. Don’t say I have nothing for everyone has something. Start from a smile; say a prayer for somebody; or share something you have with someone that needs it more than you do.
It’s time to start living and stop existing
It’s time to make your own contribution!
